| Personally, I think it is good to gain experience in a hospital environment first, to consolidate your training. As for possible questions: You will be asked the usual general questions like: Tell us a bit about yourself; Why are you applying for this post? What qualities can you bring to this place of work? etc. You will probably be asked some specific midwifery questions: Talk us through how you would manage a PPH; What would you do if you received a phone call from reception to say a woman is about to give birth in the car park?! You may be asked about ward management issues: If you are in charge of the ward, what specific extra responsibilities do you need to be aware of? Also, expect to have some questions on the following: CNST Accountability PREP Governance etc. HTH

| It's a favourite topic for interviews where I work! It stands for "Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts". It's like an insurance policy for trusts, in this day of litigation. If the trust can prove that they have systems in place to reduce the risks to patients - such as regular training for staff, auditing of performance, reporting adverse incidences etc. then they get a reduction in their insurance. There are different levels that a trust can apply for. The higher the level, the more the trust has to prove to show it is reducing risk. A board come to the hospital and assess which level they believe the trust are working at. My trust has CNST level 2 and are working towards level 3. HTH

| As I understand it questions are formed around the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework known as the KSF... Heres the link... http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publications...nce/DH_4090843 This KSF superceeds the 2003 version.
