Preceptor Mentor When newly qualified or joining a new trust for the first time, how do you decide you will be your mentor during your preceptorship?
I have two midwives in mind to be mine - one is very gentle, is a good laugh and I feel I can talk to her about anything, the other is much more ambitious, and will push me to achieve and develop skills, but I don't know that I could confide in her if I have a problem.
Ideally I would like a mix of the two, but that obviously can't happen, so which would you suggest would be better for consolidating my training and why do you say that?
