| I think it should be standardized - at least we would know that we are all singing from the same song book and we would all start on a level pegging. KS x

| - If it is standardized, where's the room for growth and development? I'm not sure of the system, but if a particular uni tries out a new idea for course structure or for a module and it works particularly well, then is this shared with other uni's, so they can benefit? If so, then I think it is good for uni's to be able to adapt the courses that they offer.

| Good points Shosh. Sometimes yes, one uni starts something that turns out to be good/useful so that other uni's then take it up as part of their course too.....student caseloading being a fine example, started by Bournemouth and soon to be implemented by every uni. However if it isn't implemented in the same way (and it isn't, as can be seen by the caseload thread) will it be as successful everywhere? I agree its good for unis to be able to adapt their curriculums but on the surface some of these courses do appear (to me) to be harder than others to get through.
